New Music: j:dead – Draws My Blood

Published On: July 8th, 2026|

Draws My Blood marks something of a tonal shift from previous 2026 singles by j:dead yet retains a similarly high level of sonic and emotional intensity.

The project of UK musician Jay Taylor, Draws My Blood, sees j:dead finesse the industrial pop feel of tracks like January’s Disgusting into a style that carries echoes of futurepop, retaining a rock sensibility.

If you’re familiar with the European dark scene, you’ll fall for the powerful way Taylor bridges the gap between the dance-floor existential angst of Icon of Coil or Neuroticfish and the doomy, equally danceable textures of Project Pitchfork. It also allows Taylor to showcase the genre-crossing aspect of his vocals, fusing his industrial pop side with a rock attitude that, nevertheless, is awash with vulnerability.

States Taylor about the track, “Draws My Blood is about the monsters we all face in life; they come in different forms and faces, but the constant question I have been asking myself throughout my recent 12 songs is – is it me? Am I the problem? Am I the antagonist? Am I the monster…?”

Draws My Blood is out now via Germany’s Infacted Records and can be heard on all major streaming platforms, including Bandcamp and Spotify. Head to j:dead’s Instagram or Facebook socials for music updates as the band continues on its mission to release a single every month. They have already been announced to appear at Dark Malta Festival in 2027.
