New Music: Jon Hood – Primrose

Swiss quartet Jon Hood bring a kosmische groove to play on a sublime indie-rock sound with Primrose.

The vocals of Joan Seiler bear a similarity to Lætitia Sadier; lightness mixed with lilting melancholy acts as the track’s emotional focus. Primrose does have faint echoes of Stereolab, as both bands delve into 70s-style song structures, and Jon Hood takes those minimal, progressive elements, layers, entwines, and transforms them, making music that will captivate the listener completely.
