New Music: Legwurk – This and That

Legwurk (aka Tani) is a member of Still Woozy’s live band, playing guitar and synths, and shares some musical influences with the Californian artist. However, she does something very different with them, as you can hear on This and That.

Highlife and indie meet Hot Chip here, a tight, sharp melody duelling playfully with a light, slightly melancholic vocal style. The lyrics certainly have a thoughtful, heartfelt quality to them, hitting home even as the hooks and beats makes you want to get up and dance.

Tani says about the lyrics of This and That, “This is my attempt at putting all my feelings into one song. I want this song to make you dance and cry at the same time, cuz that’s all I feel like doing these days.”
