New Music: Madge – TALL GRASS (feat. Portugal. The Man)

TALL GRASS sees DIY-pop project Madge team up with Portugal. The Man on a leftfield pop bop that fuses elements of hyperpop and pop-punk into something contemplative or naughty, depending on how you choose to interpret the metaphors in the lyrics. Think Dorian Electra and Peaches marinating blissfully under the California sunshine, then you’ll get a feel for what’s going on here.

Says Los Angeles based Madge about TALL GRASS, “I met Portugal. The Man via friends and immediately began to bug them about a collab. We bounced ideas back and forth for months and collaged together the final product as a Frankenstein of all our virtual exchanges. We have the most insane text trail of messages, lyrics, voice notes, and pics. I feel proud that we made it happen.”

TALL GRASS will feature on Madge’s upcoming BOXJAR album which is set for release via AntiFragile Records on the 17^th of November and also features appearances by girli and carpetgarden.
