Amber Wilson, Nass Donald and Adam Falkner have all had illustrious careers in music before forming OK Button, with bands like Bombay Bicycle Club, Babyshambles and Gorillaz featuring in their formidable résumés.
Though sonically nothing like any of those bands, their debut song The Message straddles similar artistic territory in the way it combines a rich and deceptively complex arrangement with an open, accessible sound.
Lyrically and tonally inventive and emotive, the chilled electronica-infused ambience to the track provides an effective counterbalance to the more confident tone which with Wilson sings “You motherfuckers won’t bring me down” in the chorus.
An intriguing debut from an already accomplished trio, The Message shows that OK Button are a band to be watched.
The Message is out now on all major digital platforms including Spotify – you can find out more here. The trio have lined up some gigs in their native Scotland, with details available on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
