New Music: pop molecules – She Saw More
Prior to forming Pop Molecules, Dan Komin had been a bassist and guitarist for LA-based bands such as Papercranes, TV Girl, and Mothlight. His Ceilings and Floors EP has just dropped and features new single She Saw More.
Ceilings and Floors by pop molecules
While the song is primarily influenced by indie and dreampop, She Saw More has a surprisingly muscular quality to it. (Pop Molecule is a song by Stereolab by the way, but this track is no abstract groove.) Think Cigarettes After Sex but with a stronger focus on the melody and vocals, or a less haunted Acid Ghost, and you’ll get a real feel for what’s going on here.

A song that puts me in mind of two of my favourite bands is no bad thing at all, and the EP is well worth checking out if you’re a fan of quality indie music with a visceral lyrical edge.
