Jess Carvo and Alex Marko are Satellite Mode, a New York based outfit that knows how to dish up quality indie alternative music. You can get a flavour of their sound on new track Kill the Choreography. Watch the video for the song below.
A very chilled take on indie-electro, it brings to mind Goldfrapp at their funky best, but also more classic pop bands of the 80s like Blondie and Tom Tom Club. The song has no issues with ploughing its own furrow as it plays around with the listeners expectations and assumptions.
“This song served as an anthem to let your freak flag fly and forget the trends. We painted a picture of a character totally obsessed with social media validation. This allowed us to juxtapose an emancipating chorus where this character smashes their phone, looks inside themselves, and dances the pressure off to a funky back-beat.”
Kill the Choreography is available to stream or download on all major digital outlets. Check the duo out over on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and give them some social media love, so you can keep up with news about Satellite Mode and their music.
