New Music: So, Reverie – Separate Minds
A premium cut from their All You See In Dreams EP, Liverpool duo So, Reverie take note of the history of their hometown with Separate Minds.
Comprising musicians Andy Power on guitar and vocals, and Cain Garcia on guitar and drums, the band cites the likes of Echo & the Bunnymen and Ride as formative influences on their sound.
On Separate Minds, that blending of post-punk and shoegaze dips into Liverpool’s music heritage, with the psychedelic post-punk of The Teardrop Explodes and the melodic indie rock of Cast threaded through a time-jump jangle-led arrangement. The vocals are soft and insistent, the melody flows like wine, soothing and refreshing. The song and EP have been a long time coming, but on this showing, let’s hope they’re ready to share more music with us sooner rather than later.
They say about the EP, “It means so much to finally get this body of work out into the world; the time span of these songs being written ranges from 2020 to 2024. For the past 6 years we’ve been working away at getting this EP finished in the exact way we envisioned. We’re so glad the tracks are now all yours!”
“It’s also somewhat relieving yet scary to have these songs out there. We definitely feel like we have a clean slate as writers going forward, which is going to be a fresh foundation for us to build on. We’ve got exciting things regarding releases for next year!”
All You See In Dreams can be picked up in CD and digital formats on Bandcamp – the vinyl edition has already sold out! You can hear the EP on Spotify and all major streaming services: connect with So, Reverie on Instagram or TikTok for more listening options and band updates.
