New Music: Suzie Chism – Five Minute Face

Founder of the rock group Moseley in 2013, singer/songwriter/producer Suzie Chism is gearing up for the release of her solo album Where on the 13^th of March. A sneak peek of the album can be found on the video for the track Five Minute Face.

A stripped-down opening – just vocals and guitar – lets Chism’s vocals shine through crisp and clear in a Nashville meets Laurel Canyon vibe. Though undoubtedly feminine in tone, her voice reminds me of Marc Bolan and Cat Stevens, a playful sensuality and emotional openness giving more weight and meaning to the forthright and reflective lyrics.

Chism will debut Where at the Outlaw Roadshow at South by Southwest. Where the Heaven, a documentary film chronicling the production of Where, will accompany the album’s release.
