New Music: The Bergamot – Burns

The Bergamot is an American indie-folk-rock band based in Brooklyn, New York. Comprised of husband-and-wife duo Nathaniel Hoff and Jillian Speece, The Bergamot see out 2021 with new single Burns, which will feature on an LP due for release next year.

The duo, who toured with One Republic earlier this year, front the song with a duet that switches from solos to harmonies with deceiving ease. The voices work well together, and the combination of indie tones with folkish charm they imbue in the vocals meet their perfect match in the easy-going, acoustic tones of the arrangement.

The say about the song, “Burns explores the longing that we have felt through the last 18 months. It’s not over, but it’s getting better.”
