As entrée to tie in with the release of their sophomore album Light Reading, American avant-pop outfit The Earthly Frames have dropped a slightly camp, somewhat NSFW video for featured track She Waits For Yesterday. You can watch it in all its Argento meets sci-fi glory below.

With a slightly skewed, claustrophobic take on pop and rock it’s certainly a curious but rewarding affair.

You can hear whispers of early Roxy Music and classic Of Montreal in the mix, as Gabriel Walsh creates a sound that is catchy but left field, with enough hooks to draw you in, yet far enough off the beaten track to identify itself as a unique, maverick style.

A throwback to the days when pop music could be odd and create its own vision of what popular music could be, the song is a little gem, as engaging as it is eccentric.

She Waits For Yesterday and Light Reading are out now with a vinyl edition of the album available on Bandcamp. You can also catch up with the album on Soundcloud.
