New Music: Trope – Lambs

  • New Music: Trope - Lambs

TROPE is an art rock band from Vancouver in Canada, with the quartet exploring and pushing the boundaries or guitar-oriented sounds and genres.  Dave Thompson (guitars), Diana Studenberg (vocals), Reggie Hache (bass) and Aleks Amer (drums) excel in that admirable goal with their new song Lambs.

The complex, intricate feel of the arrangement is an immediate standout and invites comparisons with bands like A Perfect Circle and Tool in the way they turn rock into something more majestic and artistic.

Within that however, the band have a great ear for a hook and a lead guitar melody, lending the song an aura of accessibility and warmth. Throw Studenberg’s awesome vocals (think Amy Lee meets Robert Plant) into the mix with their blend of rock power and delicate phrasing and Lambs is stunning proof that a band can balance artistic expression and still create songs that are immediate and memorable, if they possess skills, talent and vision.

Lambs is available on iTunes and Spotify and will feature on Trope’s upcoming debut album Eleutheromania – keep an eye on their social media for news on a release date.
