New Music: Willoughby Vine – Honey
The self-titled EP from Willoughby Vine has a distinct and at times retro charm, which makes tracks like Honey a pleasure to listen to.
Assembled by Brad Willoughby – Los Angeles-based musician Brad K. Kaiserman – the band reveals itself to be adept at the art of creating cinematic dream pop on Honey. The vocals of Ceren Aygün provide the track with a doomy sophistication, vampish and vulnerable, as Kaiserman’s guitar shimmers with reverb that possesses a lot of serenity and just a hint of danger. They have described their songs as “the music of all things lost and wonderful and sad”, and the Cocteau Twins meets The Shangri-Las drama and dreaminess of Honey fits that billing perfectly.
You can hear the full EP on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube – for other streaming options and to keep in the loop with the latest music from Willoughby Vine, follow the project on Instagram or TikTok.
