New Music: WORLD BRAIN – Open
It’s been nearly five years since the release of WORLD BRAIN’s 2019 album Peer 2 Peer, so it seems rather fitting that the project returns with Open, a thoughtful ode to the passing of time.
Lucas Chantre’s solo project is infused by the memories of summers past, light and airy, as the vocals float across the lo-fi meets lowercase arrangement like wisps of cloud on a gentle summer breeze. Contemplative and captivatingly built around a hook-filled melody, this song is most certainly for you if you’re a fan of Fenster, John Moods, or Better Person.

“[Open] is about the passing of time, the acceptance of change, and surrendering to the present moment,” says Chantre. It’s sort of a personal memo to stop resisting what is in front of me.”
Open is out now via Mansions and Millions and can be downloaded on Bandcamp, as can Peer 2 Peer. WORLD BRAIN’s music can also be heard on Apple Music and Spotify – check out the project on Instagram or Facebook for more listening options, or click here.
