New Music: Zimmer & Local Suicide – The Night

The Night sees Paris meet Berlin under flickering subway lights with this moody collaboration between Zimmer and Local Suicide.

Zimmer is a DJ, producer, and label owner, while Local Suicide will be familiar to readers as two-thirds of Dina Summer, as well as running the Berlin label Iptamenos Discos.

The two projects retain elements of their distinctive sounds. Local Suicide bring their dark dancefloor aesthetic to the party, a glamorous spin on EBM, one that, as the lyrics on The Night reveal, won’t let you go. Zimmer has a club-focused sensibility, though it has to be said that all three musicians are also DJs, and maybe it is Zimmer that brings the acid and trance elements that brush the body of the arrangement like pastels on a night-time scene.
