Social Sliding by Boston’s TIFFY is a wonderfully idiosyncratic and highly enjoyable slice of lo-fi indie with a kick. It’s a bit Freak Scene, but also a bit Pom Pom Squad, in the way it marries fuzzy guitars, chilled tones, and emotional honesty in an engaging, insightful, and fun way.

Social Sliding is for people who are not worried about being seen as cool, or uncool, but know how to appreciate good music when they hear it.

Says TIFFY about Social Sliding, “The song is about feeling like you’re sliding around in a social scene, losing something you had before. It’s freeing to step out on your own, stop chasing things because other people are doing it and letting go of satisfying your ego. Social hierarchy is a dumb perceived notion and means nothing.”
