New Music: SANDS – Transmission

London-based multi-instrumentalist SANDS delivers a wonderfully engaging and affecting take on shoegaze-influenced indie rock with their new track Transmission.

The track, which is from SANDS’ upcoming The World’s So Cruel album, pitches itself at a moment in time where the introspection of acts like Slowdive and Ride gradually blended into the stirring, outgoing sound of The Stone Roses and The Charlatans.

That’s not to say Transmission is an exercise in nostalgia, more that it is heavily focused on the desire to explore melody and texture, while also creating an experience that reaches out to the listener.

The World’s So Cruel is set to be released on the 13th of October. Transmission can be downloaded on Bandcamp and streamed on Spotify – check out SANDS on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for further listening options.
