New Music: Trinket – New Hobby

Brooklyn-based janglepop meets shoegaze outfit Trinket celebrate the release of their New Hobby EP by dropping this delightfully lo-fi video for title track.

The lightness of the arrangement and daydreamy yet forthright sensuality of the vocals invite comparisons with Alvvays and Heavenly at their most vibrant and personal; features that make the track a great showcase for what is a finely-drawn, faultless EP.

Says vocalist and lyricist M.K. of the EP, “This is the first release of ours, and the process of having this out in the world has been so emotional and special. I’ll never ever forget it. This is the first time I’ve gotten to work with people to create something from thin air and let myself follow through and share it regardless of the anxieties and fears that come from it.”

“The process of making this has given the gift of meeting some of the most incredible friends in my bandmates. I don’t know if I could ever fully thank everyone who has helped make this happen enough.”

New Hobby is out now via London-based label Sad Club Records and can also be heard on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. The EP and more music from Trinket can be downloaded on Bandcamp, where you can also pick up New Hobby on a limited-edition glittery cassette.
