New Music: Big Warm Bed – Should’ve Seen It Coming
On Should’ve Seen It Coming, the debut single from Leeds-based Big Warm Bed, a lightly-coloured arrangement lets a set of deeply personal lyrics take centre stage. The accompanying video was filmed on tour dates with Far Caspian.
Though Big Warm Bed – aka Jacob Andrews – cites artists like Kevin Morby, Willie J Healey, and Sam Evian as influences, you can also hear iconic artists like Michael Head (Shack, The Strands) in the drawing together of classic 80s and 90s indie beats and shimmering Byrds-like rock vibes of the guitar.

“It’s a song that was written at a time where I was meeting a lot of new people and having fleeting friendships that subsequently resulted in feeling betrayed and let down by them or by their actions,” says Andrews. “In hindsight realising that you should have seen that coming from a mile off just by the way they acted or how they treat the people around them.”

Big Warm Bed has a series of UK and European festival appearances lined up in the coming months, including The Alternative Escape in Brighton, Get Together in Sheffield, This Must Be The Place in Leeds, and Left of the Dial in Rotterdam.
Should’ve Seen It Coming is out now via Dance To The Radio and can be downloaded on Bandcamp. The song is also streaming on Spotify and Apple Music. For news on those festival slots, check out Big Warm Bed on TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
