New Music: Cathedral In Flames – Push The Fire

The dramatic opening of Push The Fire is a stirring introduction to the anthemic gothic rock sound of Cathedral In Flames.

Cathedral In Flames, based in Prague, Czech Republic, envelop their music in textures that are dark and sweeping but also know the value of entertaining the audience via a memorable chorus and a riveting central vocal performance.

Push The Fire has one eye on the classic era of Sisters of Mercy and Fields of the Nephilim, also paying attention to subsequent developments that became post-punk via the rich instrumentation that has echoes of Theatre of Tragedy. The post-punk presence, resonating with Molchat Doma melancholy, is prominent in the rhythm section, taut and forceful, a perfect foil for the organic energy of the vocal performances.

You can easily envision the track becoming a set closer and festival favourite, having that perfect blend of atmosphere, drive, and melody that typifies the best of European gothic rock.

Push The Fire can be heard on SoundCloud, Spotify, and Apple Music. You can connect with Cathedral In Flames on their Facebook and Instagram socials for all the latest band news.
