New Music: MINK – Candlelight

In the lead-up to the release of their Return To Sender album, MINK reel us in with the emotional lows and sonic crescendos of Candlelight.

The title track of the Berlin duo’s new EP tackles a weighty subject, as the band has revealed that it “traces the tension of loving a friend through their darkest hour,” yet it is handled in a delicate and fervently empathetic manner.

With the indie themes of the arrangement encapsulating much of the themes that are present throughout the EP, dream pop and indie rock wear the subject of the matter lightly, as the vocals make the listener feel like a vital part of an evolving story.
