New Music: ENOLA – Leave A Mark

As part of the build-up to their Nothing Lasts Forever EP, ENOLA has offered up the fevered waking dream that is Leave A Mark.

The song, which the Australian artist, aka musician Ruby Marshall, describes as being “a love song about late nights, reckless romance and getting lost in the moment,” is like a capsule of time, frozen forever.

Even as the vocals and guitar melody pitch light against dark, movement against stillness, in a constantly moving pas de deux, Leave A Mark is anchored by a suspension of the reality around the lovers at the heart of the lyrics.

Many of us will have experienced that eternal millisecond where we and a loved one seem to exist outside time, love causing reality to fade into the background, and that is where you find Leave A Mark and its entrancing approach to shoegaze, dream pop, and post-punk.
