New Music: Waifish – Ambition’t

A single can serve as an invitation to enter a band’s world, and Ambition’t will leave you wanting to know more about Waifish.

The group has said that the song, which is out in advance of their new album, is about “friendship, getting lost in the night, and learning what happiness is,” and that chaos and fun come through strongly in the vocals and arrangement. It’s given added impetus by the way it hits a sweet spot between the abandon of indie sleaze and the furious pace of post-punk. A whole album’s worth of music like this will make the autumn nights fly by.
