New Music: Between Days – Amber Eyes

German duo Between Days have already established a strong and distinctive musical personality on their official debut, Amber Eyes.

On the track, they bring together the light and hypnotic sounds of American East Coast dream pop – think a female-fronted Drab Majesty – and the driving European sensibility of, say, Clan of Xymox and Ash Code.

The arrangement and production are cleaner and brighter than you’d expect, the male backing vocals adding the merest hints of dissonance, but the overall sensation is of being absorbed in the smooth embrace of eternal twilight.
