New Music: Bizou – Disco

Los Angeles-based Bizou has a stellar lineup, featuring as it does current and former members of acts like Light FM, The Smashing Pumpkins, Wax Idols, and Glaare. With a pedigree like that, you are assured of quality music, which you certainly get with Disco.

From their recently released Tragic Lover album, the song is a shimmering and glossy take on post-punk and shoegaze, woven with stirring synths and ethereal vocals. There’s a Goth aesthetic underpinning the song at times, but that is tempered with hints of My Bloody Valentine and Curve, offering the listener a dark, rich palette of sounds.
