New Music: Bob Bleedy – Resource

Robert Kriz is the co-founder of the Prague-Berlin label ODDITY Recordings and the man behind Bob Bleedy. It would be unfair to describe his new Resource single as an oddity, but it’s as unusual as it is brilliant.

The song, which features on his Codepender album, is a 21^st century nursery rhyme come fairy-tale. Pop-punk and hyperpop are meshed in layers of dark guitars and wrapped around a banging chorus.

The lyrics take apart modern society, but also include a cheeky reference to The Beach Boys. It illustrates just how diverse and how unusual Resource is, but it’s also a mark of the real quality of the song.
