UK electronic duo CATBEAR lean heavily into an Italians Do It Better style synthwave mood on the smouldering and sensual Higher. Queer electropop at its best, the vocals and production are drenched in emotion.

File Higher next to Romy, Robyn, and NINA in the way it navigates complex emotional themes over a pulsating and atmospheric arrangement with a decidedly late-night pop aesthetic.

Says CATBEAR’s Zoe: “I was thinking about how before video calls, we had no visuals, just words and imagination, and how powerful it could be to hear just someone’s voice from many miles away. Without seeing someone your mind fills in the gaps and is capable of building intense thoughts and feelings.”
