New Music: Club 8 – Something’s Wrong In My Head

Stockholm-based duo Club 8 have dropped a new single nearly every month of 2024 in the leadup to the December release of their new album. Each one has been a gem so far, and Something’s Wrong In My Head is no different.

In common with previous singles All I Know and Getting By, Karolina Komstedt and Johan Angergård ostensibly work with the foundation blocks of post-punk and dream pop to create their signature sound.

Here, though, there is a distinct sonic edge to the guitars – and the lyrical themes – that adds a darker, sharper flavour. A wistful indie-pop banger that owes just a little to mid-80s UK indie, Something’s Wrong In My Head will appeal to fans of the early iterations of Primal Scream, Slowdive, and Ride.
