New Music: Das Body – No love will shine on me

Oslo-based Das Body take dark pop to another level on the brooding and bruising electro stormer No love will shine on me. The song is a tempting taster for their new album which is scheduled for release in 2024.

The track is given an arresting and engaging emotional theme by vocalist Ellie Linden, vulnerable even as she commands the song from the front. The mix of vintage sounding analogue style synths and pop driven melody wouldn’t go amiss on an 80s Kate Bush album, or the latest from Sløtface or Mall Girl. But this unique sound is 100% Das Body – Scandinavian noir in musical form.

Reveals Linden, “This is my favourite song to perform live right now. We extend that massive outro much longer than on the studio recording, and I put on 50 cm platform shoes and venture into the audience. The combination of becoming insanely tall, wobbly, and weird – paired with the poignant lyrics – feels absolutely perfect for us.”
