New Music: Dolorifics – Impossible
Formed in Gothenburg in 2016, rock band Dolorifics are Erik Löfving, Olle Mossberg, Christoffer Anderson, and Kalle Mossberg. Their classic rock’n’roll leanings are certainly to the fore on their new track, Impossible.
The song, which is the opener on their Welcome to Dolograd album, is full of raw emotion and a real appreciation of rock history. You can pick up some Britpop vibes from the Oasis-style energy from the vocals and guitar at times; that’s for sure. You can also pick up some mature influences as well; the thoughtful and alternative rock of The 69 Eyes or maybe early Smiths immediately coming to mind, but also the smooth but dark tones of 70s metal. It’s unusual to listen to a rock song that channels such a pop sensibility in terms of melody, but it’s something Dolorifics have done incredibly well here.
Welcome to Dolgograd and Impossible are out now and can be streamed or downloaded on all major platforms: details can be found over on their Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter socials.
Dolorifics play Underwerket in Copenhagen on the 1st of February.
