New Music: Dondadi – No CONDUIT

No CONDUIT is the new release from multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer, Connor Hanwick, recording under the name Dondadi. Since leaving The Drums, his work has become increasingly experimental and eclectic, as you can hear on No CONDUIT below.

From its opening moments, analogue sounding elements wax and wane, as the vocal loop of ‘Oh my God’, fades from and returns to the listeners’ consciousness.

Layers and samples slowly build in complexity and intensity, a deconstructed guitar solo providing occasional colour to balance the almost monochrome, funereal rhythms. As the track unwinds to an ominous nothing, a lone, affected guitar shreds over the slowly oscillating soundscape, eventually leaving the listener sitting alone and wondering.
