New Music: Flawes – Look No Further

Huddersfield/London trio Flawes released Look No Further in early December and the video for the song already racking up over 160,000 views on YouTube. With a UK tour on the way, and albums Highlights out at the end of the month, the trio has recreated the track in a live performance video.

JC’s vocals ache with emotion and energy, teasing out the feelings behind the lyrics in a forensic fashion. Their fusion of indie anthem with a layering of pure 70s soul is reflected in the arrangement; with the lead guitar a suitably slick companion to JC’s seductive delivery.

“Look No Further is an open letter to myself,” explains frontman JC (Josh Carruthers), “It’s when you realise your partner’s true colours and see them for who they really are after a long period of being conned. It’s saying I need to ‘look no further’ for the truth, because your lies are so clear to me now.”
