Chicago’s KAPUT are shaping up to have a great impact in 2025, as their run of great singles prior to a new album continues with Sucker.

The band are rapidly defining their own sound and aesthetic, one where fuzzed-out electronica and primal post-punk are brought together by the high-voltage vocal performance of Nadia Garofalo on a track they reveal is about “…the pressures of other people’s expectations and a constantly moving goal line.”

Pitching itself somewhere between the no-nonsense sonic barrage of Sprints and the early No Wave style of Sonic Youth, Sucker still exudes an unexpected and unglossy pop energy thanks to its hooks and memorable chorus.
