New Music: Nina June – When We Fall

  • New Music: Nina June - When We Fall

Amsterdam based singer Nina June created a bit of a Spotify sensation last year when her track For Love hit almost two million streams on the platform. Now on to her fourth release with When We Fall she is sure to repeat that success. It’s the fourth track in her ongoing project BON VOYAGE,  a work reflecting on the paradigm of becoming more socially and emotionally isolated in an increasingly interconnected world.

She describes When We Fall as being about ‘our search for love, about holding on and letting go – a never ending cycle’. It’s a beautiful piano led number, simplistic and heartfelt initially but becoming musically complex  in its combinations of electronica and strings as the song progresses.

Vocally, Nina June evokes comparisons with Ane Brun and Agnes Obel, but her artistic vision paints itself from a very different emotional palate to create a unique and poignant sound.
