New Music: PINS – Hot Slick

Published On: February 23rd, 2020|

Hailing from Manchester, PINS are Faith Vern, Lois Macdonald, and Kyoko Swann. The trio has made the transition from local legends to festival favourites in recent years, but have kept true to their unique sound, as you can hear on Hot Slick.

The song, which has been played on 6 Music by Huw Stephens, takes some cues from post-punk, but turns them on their head, inside-out, and upside-down. The motorik-infused electronic elements are the first hint of that, but the vocal harmonies and a crunching psychobilly-style bass line mean you will find it hard to resist this grunge-meets-glam slice of fun. If you like Goldfrapp and The Cramps, then Hot Slick is most certainly for you.

You can catch up with PINS on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.  You can click here for details on how to listen to Hot Slick, while the trio plays several dates around the UK in the coming weeks, culminating with an appearance at Fair Play Festival on the 28th of March.
