New Music: Silent Fall – Burn the Sun

Outside the blog, one of my greatest listening pleasures is symphonic and power metal, so when I come across a song like Burn the Sun, my heart leaps.

Silent Fall have come back to the music scene after a fifteen-year absence, and if they continue to produce tracks like Burn the Sun, that return will be celebrated by metal fans.

At times, there’s a djent edge to the guitar, but the solos typify power metal at its best – fast, melodic, and passionate. The vocals and lyrics are heroic and energising, and the arrangement as a whole taps into the best of power and symphonic sounds, laden with choirs and strings much in the style of Ayreon and Visions of Atlantis.
