New Music: The Sonic Trees – Give me something beautiful

Their MIDLIFE:CRISIS LP is shaping up to be a significant sonic and emotional event, as The Sonic Trees drop another stunning featured track, Give me something beautiful.

The Berlin outfit tap into the sounds of some of my favourite bands here, and somehow makes their divergent sounds together into a melody-driven moodscape.

Violator-era Depeche Mode comes to mind, where synthpop merges into atmospheric, cinematic rock. However, he delicate soundscapes of The Blue Nile and Cigarettes After Sex also have an influence, charming and wistful, finding beauty in the sadness of big cities and bigger emotions in the heat of the night.

The band describe the song as “A quiet plea for sincerity and small, unpolished truths in a noisy, performative world. It speaks to the search for intimacy, even in life’s overlooked corners.”

They add about the album, “MIDLIFE:CRISIS is a poetic meditation on regret, reinvention, and quiet resilience. It’s the sound of Berlin nights, East German longing, and the search for truth in an over-staged world.”
