New Music: Théa Marie x Kiriku – I’m Fine

London-based vocalist and producer Théa Marie is prolific – releasing 52 songs (and electro and acoustic versions) in one year – but she also produces music of high quality.

I’m Fine sees Marie, who lives on a canal boat in London, team up with producer and DJ Kiriku, who commutes between London and Ibiza, on a track that triangulates diverse influences into a smooth and distinctive sound.

The blending of folktronica, Balearic, and jazzy moments, along with a Scandipop-style sad banger chorus, is seamless and laden with a quiet yet energising melody. Kiriku’s own work combines electronic and acoustic instruments, which works well with the warm and empathetic vocals on I’m Fine, as well as Marie’s eclectic approach to making music. Fans of Maribou State and Holly Walker will find a lot to love here.

Says Marie, “The track captures the quiet chaos of saying ‘I’m fine’ when you’re anything but — carried by sultry harmonies, laid-back grooves, and raw lyricism that hits deep. It’s about masking pain with poise, and healing through sound.”

I’m Fine features on Shades of Longing, the latest EP by Théa Marie, which is also a collaboration with Kiriku, and can be heard on SoundCloud, Spotify, and YouTube Music.
