New Music: TIFFY – Mirror

Accompanied by a very clever video that subtly reinforces the lyrical content, Mirror by TIFFY casts an observant eye on social conventions and mores.

Sharp and at times downright caustic, the track converts psychological and sociological concepts into what is, essentially, an alt.rock bop. The nearest musical counterpoints are Pixies and The Smashing Pumpkins, which may seem a bit of a contradiction.

Mirror shifts from primal indie sounds to a grander scale and back, in keeping with the theme of the track, and brings some hard truths into a glaring spotlight.

Says TIFFY of the track, which appears on her 2 EP, “[Mirror] is about the comfortability people feel maintaining the status quo.”
