New Music: ViVii – Savant

Sometimes stripped-down or live versions of singles can be a hit and miss affair – often within the same song! But when a band gets it pitch perfect – as ViVii have on Savant – the results are stunningly wonderous.

A reworking of a track from their debut Savant EP, the primarily guitar and vocal take on the song serves to bring out the beauty and majesty of Emil and Caroline Jonsson’s vocals.

Dreampop mixes with soft rock and indie yearning, the purity and honesty of their performances revealing the song’s inner strength – their song writing – whilst simultaneously stripping back the listener’s emotional barriers, note by note.
