New Music: Postcards – Fossilized

Lebanese band Postcards (Julia Sabra, Pascal Semerdjian and Marwan Tohme) are currently working on the followup to their 2018 album I’ll be here in the morning. For a flavour of what is to come, check out the very clever video for Fossilized.

The trio’s more expansive and electronic take on shoegaze feels like a breath of fresh air. Fossilized has a lightness and clarity you don’t really expect from the genre, along with a grounded air that sets it apart from its genre peers. Some dark tones in the guitar do intrude at times, but with such deliciously ethereal vocals, they feel like little more than storm clouds on a distant horizon.

Fossilized is out now and can be streamed or downloaded on all major digital platforms. The track will also feature on their album The Good Soldier due to be released early next year.
