New Music: SCAM – Pleasure (feat. BRÍET)

SCAM’s third single, the skewed and sensual pop of Pleasure, features Icelandic pop icon in the making, Bríet.

The electro-pop project of Icelandic artists and music producers Herdís Stefánsdóttir and Salka Valsdóttir, SCAM glides close to the avant-pop of fellow Icelanders GugGus her, with less of a club focus but a similarly singular approach to making chart-friendly music on their own terms.

On both the track and in the accompanying video directed by Ágústa Ýr, BRÍET shows she has the range and maturity to switch from ingenue to vampish lover and back, a perfect fit for the subversive electronic pop Stefánsdóttir and Valsdóttir. You’ll find yourself wanting to follow in the footsteps of the video clip, dancing freely and escaping your daily routine!

“I think Pleasure has a very specific electric quality to it that resembles the butterflies you feel in your stomach as you embark on a new journey in life,” reveal SCAM about the track. “We were constantly getting goosebumps when we were writing it, which doesn’t sound very humble, but it’s true!”

SCAM appear at Iceland Airwaves on the 6th of November, where they will play Pleasure live on stage with Bríet. Connect with SCAM on Instagram for details of that appearance, plus streaming options for their music.
