New Music: RIELL – Stubborn

Canadian musician RIELL is all set to release her 7-track debut album, PARADISE. As a taster for its upcoming release, she’s dropped a stunning and thoughtful video for featured track Stubborn. Check it out below.

Stubborn sees RIELL apply an RNB sensibility to a song whose roots lie more in an electro and pop setting. That duality is also present in the lyrics – a reflective account which sees the protagonist fight doubt and fear. Still, the artist deftly uses spiky pop hooks and a stirring melody to imply that the internal battle was ultimately won.

Speaking about the lyrics of Stubborn and the themes of the album, RIELL had this to say: “It revolves around themes of self-exploration, an obsession with hardship and the impact of perspective on reality.”
