New Music: IMBER – Something Good

New Music: IMBER – Something Good

IMBER is the solo project of Bristol musician and producer Ben Imber. With his recent single Something Good, he finds a beautiful balance between mood and melody, as you can hear below.

IMBER says his sound is inspired in part by drum n’ bass; something you can hear in the song’s tight percussion and brooding nature. His soulful vocals create a more organic and thoughtful side to the song, in tune with the trip-hop feel of the overall arrangement and the deeply personal nature of the lyrics.

He says of the song, “Something Good was inspired by starting a new relationship long distance. We would take the train or bus to see each other once every two weeks; that chapter had its downsides because our time would always feel cut short, but it was a really exciting time. The darker sound in the production reflects the constant traveling between Bristol and London often at night, while also drawing inspiration from the negative side of having too much time to overthink.”

Something Good is out now to stream and download via all major music sites, including Deezer and Apple Music. Hit up IMBER’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram socials for further listening options.
