New Music: Mary Anne’s Polar Rig – Dopamine Detox

Mary Anne’s Polar Rig make music that lives up to that attention grabbing name. New single Dopamine Detox is a wild mix of electric vocals, garage fuzz, and deliriously deconstructed rock. This wild ride of a tune from the Malmö duo promises great things for their sophomore album, Makes You Wonder.

Makes You Wonder is released on the 25th of March via Rama Lama Records. It comes in a limited-edition gatefold double 12-inch marble vinyl version, of which only 300 copies have been produced. If you order it on Bandcamp though, you can get your mitts on the vinyl edition well before release day!

Says vocalist Malin Hofvander about the track, “I guess Dopamine Detox is a bit of a satirical commentary on the ‘plugged in’ society of today. Our brains have gotten used to a constant stream of entertainment. Sometimes you love it, sometimes you feel trapped in it. The idea of detoxing yourself completely from dopamine seems pretty unrealistic to me but it’s an idea that stuck – what if I just turn it all OFF?”
