New Music: SOUKOU – family

SOUKOU is Berlin-based Ena Soukou, previously known as techno/electronic dance musician Ena Wild. New single family exists outside a dance-oriented sound, but will create feelings of love and warmth associated with the best of clubland.

With its neo soul vibes, sparkling production, and of course a masterclass in classic 70s-infused RNB vocals from SOUKOU herself, the song is a celebration of chosen family helping us through dark times. Fans of Robyn and Solange will love the music of SOUKOU.

Reveals the artist about the song, “I wrote family about four years ago when I found myself at rock bottom and having to start over. As a result. a lot of my family decided I wasn’t worthy and left. I found myself being picked up from my chosen family, the greatest security net someone could ask for. This song is about sacrificing oneself for the sake of the bigger picture.”

She adds, “It’s not just about my small little family, it’s about all of us. We are all made to give and to care about each other no matter what – blood related or not – there is room for all of us in this world”.
