New Music: dani mack – Everybody’s Watching

Texas-born Baylee Barrett – aka dani mack – writes from experience on Everybody’s Watching. A cautionary tale on how California dreams can go awry as her musical career was side-lined by unfulfilled promises and a loss of creative control.

The 90s-infused rock aesthetic on Everybody’s Watching is reminiscent of Liz Phair, Abby Sage, and Julia Jacklin, as the dreampop guitar and muscular percussion underpin dani mack’s smoky and emotionally vulnerable vocal performance.

Says the artist, “Everybody’s Watching is a soul-searching anthem about the pressures of youth, success, and living in the now amidst the constant chase for the elusive ‘next best thing.’”
