New Music: Divorce Court – Under the Scope
With the Two Hours album by Divorce Court still fresh on the net, it seems a good time to focus on one of the LP’s strongest and most evocative tracks, the melodic Under the Scope.
Divorce Court main man Lynden Williams describes the song as “an ode to the chillwavers of old,” and that something you can hear in hazy guitar tones, distorted yet dreamy vocals, and slightly lo-fi 00s retro tones of the arrangement.
It’s oh so easy to lose yourself in the daydream bliss of Under the Scope, but before you do, make sure you find Two Hours. It’s a wonderful album that will resonate with devotees of Porches, A Beacon School, and Orchid Mantis.
Under the Scope and the Two Hours can also be heard on YouTube Music, Amazon Music and Apple Music. The LP is available to download digitally and purchase in cassette format on Divorce Court’s Bandcamp page.
