New Music: Evan Greer x Ryan Cassata – Protect Trans Kids (WTFIWWY)

Anger is more than just an energy when you’re fighting for your right to exist, something at the heart of this song from Evan Greer and Ryan Cassata.

It’s old-school punk and hardcore melded together, raw and furious. And while the message of the song is simple and direct, it also illustrates the complex and multifaceted attack on trans rights in America, and now the UK.

Says Greer, “Sometimes you just need to fucking scream, you know? With a topic like transphobic violence and discrimination – something that carries so much pain for so many people – the structure of old-school political punk can be really helpful in just saying exactly what you mean.”

You can download the song on Bandcamp, where there is also a series of links to organisations that support trans people. For other listening options, click here.
