New Music: Halloween – Spiral Staircase

Terrifying and thrilling, Spiral Staircase has all the verve, and much of the quiet menace, of an Argento horror/giallo classic.

From the doomy chords to the back masking, not to mention the haunting melancholy of the leading vocals, Halloween waste no time in setting the listener up for a supernatural and psychological voyage into uncertain sonic and emotional territories.

Its daring and disorienting 90s-facing fusion of shoegaze, noise rock, and punk sets the scene wonderfully for Halloween’s new album Shadow House, which is out on the 8th of August.

Shadow House can be pre-ordered in vinyl, cassette, and digital formats via Funeral Party Records over on Bandcamp.

Halloween play a series of live dates in the wake of the album’s release. For venue and ticket news, head to the band’s Instagram page. Spiral Staircase can be heard on Bandcamp and Spotify.
